Kay’s Kitchen is a large, commercial kitchen used to make our daily breakfast meal and to provide a training ground for food industry employees. Contact email@example.com for more information about the kitchen.
- Breakfast is served Monday - Saturday between 7:30am and 8:30am. On Sundays between April and October, a lighter continental breakfast is served at 10:00am. Coffee and tea is available during this time. Breakfast is created using as many local ingredients as possible. We make our own granola and our own yogurt every day. Our eggs come from local farms, including Innisfree Village. Most of our food is donated, though some is purchased through local vendors, including the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank.
- A culinary arts training program is in development. Students will learn basic kitchen skills, knife skills, kitchen sanitation, cooking techniques and food preservation skills during this class. Students are required to complete volunteer hours cooking breakfast in our kitchen and are then selected to catering jobs as available. Exceptional students are provided with assistance in locating and securing employment in area restaurants.
